It’s basically an open secret that Czech Jiri Prochazka will face champion Glover Teixeira for the UFC welterweight title. When will the fight happen and at what location will it take place? The Brazilian has now answered that question.
When Glover Teixeira defeated Jan Blachowicz, he basically confirmed that his next fight will be with Jiri Prochazka, who was the replacement in their fight.
Official confirmation hasn’t come yet, but it’s an open secret that it will happen. So it was only a matter of when the fight would happen, which the Brazilian has now shed some light on.
“I think it would be the absolute best if I could fight in front of my home crowd in Brazil. As I hinted after the Jan Blachowicz fight, the ideal date for me to return would be May next year.
This is because I don’t want to rush anything. Personally, I need to rest, relax and enjoy the moment. I intend to return to training gradually during January, so May will be the ideal month for my return,” Teixeira told Sherdog.
This date is quite positive and therefore it is very likely that the fight will happen on the aforementioned date.
Thus, Walk can already slowly start preparing, as a title shot can only come once in a lifetime.
