After yesterday’s final eight matches of the Champions League, we know the eight clubs that will fight for the title of this year’s European king. Find out when the quarter-final draw takes place and where to watch it in this article.
The Champions League semi-final matches have been played in the past two weeks and as most of the European giants have mastered their role as favourites, we can look forward to heavyweight contests in the quarter-finals.
When is the Champions League quarter-final draw?
The Champions League quarter-final draw will take place on Friday 18 March at 12:00 CET and, as is customary, it will take place at UEFA’s headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The semi-final draw will take place at the same time so that the eight remaining teams can plan their potential path to the final in Paris.
Which teams are in the Champions League quarter-finals?
Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Real Madrid have already booked their place in the quarter-finals, having won their double-headers last week. This week they then progressed past their opponents Atlético, Benfica, Villarreal and Chelsea.
As there are no rules prohibiting teams from the same country or group from meeting in the quarter-finals in the autumn, the draw is open and anyone can face anyone.
When will the next Champions League play-off matches be played?
The first matches of the Champions League quarter-finals will be played on 5 and 6 April, with the rematches a week later on 12 and 13 April. Two matches will be played at the same time each night. The semi-final matches then start on 26 and 27 April, with the rematches on 3 and 4 May.
The grand final will then be played on 28 May at the Stade de France. As we have already informed you, the gala was originally scheduled to take place at the Gazprom Arena in St Petersburg, but UEFA decided to move the match to Paris due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
