Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not doing well at Chelsea and has gradually lost his place in the starting line-up of the London team. The Gabonese striker is not happy at the club and is considering leaving. Where will his next steps go?
Gabonese striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived at Chelsea last summer from a successful loan spell at Barcelona. At the Spanish club, he made a significant contribution to their return to the elite and enjoyed football himself again after a long time. And it showed in his performances.
He did not, however, build on his playing style from his previous engagement at Chelsea. He has only managed to score three goals in seventeen competitive matches and is definitely not living up to the expectations of the London management.
Aubameyang is also lagging behind in terms of play and it all culminated in his exclusion from the roster for the European Cups. No wonder Aubameyang is not happy at his current club, his departure is thus very likely.
But where could the thirty-three year old striker head to? There are several options in play. One of them is a return to Barcelona. He was happy there, and although there is a huge overload in the Catalan side in attack, he will certainly enjoy his football more than at Chelsea.
It is also possible because the fans themselves would be keen for him to return. They are grateful to Aubameyang for his services and can’t let go of him.
However, football-wise, a move to Barcelona would not make much sense. And so more suitors are stepping in. Aubameyang’s possible move to MLS is highly speculated, where he could probably head to LA Galaxy.
But the Gabonese footballer would like to wait for an overseas engagement. He still wants to stay in Europe. As reported by CaughtOffside, Aubameyang is avoiding negotiations with LA Galaxy and focusing on European clubs.
However, it remains a mystery as to which European clubs will show interest. However, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is unlikely to stay at Chelsea.
