West Ham got a crazy tackle from Brighton. But Coach Moyes’ position at the club is solid
West Ham are really struggling this season and are one of 9 teams that will be fighting very hard to save themselves in the Premier League. However, according to journalist Jacob Steinberg, who is very close to the Hammers, coach David Moyes has his position solid. At least for now.

West Ham have several problems at the moment, the most significant being the lack of a goalscorer who can score goals regularly. Jarrod Bowen (winger) is the best in this regard with 4 league goals.
That’s really not enough. Therefore, to improve this came Danny Ings in January, who has hit the Nottingham Forest net twice so far. But in the other 5 league games he came up empty in terms of goals.
Then on Saturday we witnessed perhaps the most disappointing game so far as Brighton scored 4 goals against the Hammers. The statistics of the game then speak for themselves: Shots 20::3, possession 65.8% to 34.2%.
Above all, Moyes fails to ignite the fire in his players as they absolutely fail to catch when confronted with active teams like Brighton and the few centres into the whitewash are then overwhelmingly turned away by the opposition defence.
However, according to journalist Jacob Steinberg, who also contributed to Mark Noble’s autobiography, the West Ham coach hasn’t rocked his chair yet as he continues to have faith in Moyes’ leadership.
The experienced Scottish coach himself looked very dejected in the post-match press conference when he admitted that they had had a really bad day.
Furthermore, the Hammers cannot focus purely on the Premier League as they face a European clash with AEK Larnaca this week. Then on Saturday they welcome Aston Villa.
Moyes’ charges, however, have a relatively favourable end to the season compared to several other teams they will be battling for salvation.
However, West Ham will need to bring in new players in the summer. In addition, the club will probably part ways with an absolutely key man who holds the whole team together. That is, of course, Declan Rice, whose departure will fill the club’s coffers. But first the club must be saved!
