Conference league
We want to win and play dominatingly declared the Feyenoord coach! What else was said at his press conference?
Slavia Prague are a short distance away from equalling their best European result in modern history. The Sešiovans’ maximum is the semi-final of the former UEFA Cup from 1996. This time the Slavs are relatively close to another European sensation. However, they face a strong opponent in Feyenoord.

The Dutch team will certainly not give Slavia anything for free, the Czech football public already knows that very well. Feyenoord is very similar in concept to Jindřich Trpišovský’s team. The similarity is not so much in the playing style, but mainly in the winning mentality of both teams.
You can see in the players and the management teams of both rivals that they will do their absolute best to advance. Slavia will have the home advantage, which could be valuable in the first minutes of the match and also in the end.
The scenario of extra time or penalties is also in the air, but this is certainly not the wish of coach Jindřich Trpišovský, who has long feared the penalty scenario in European cup competitions and has so far managed to avoid a penalty shootout.
And what has Feyenoord coach Arne Slot announced ahead of the return leg of the ECL quarter-final?
“It’s about playing dominant, attacking, but Slavia play a bit differently at home than away. They are a very tactically prepared team, we would like to beat them, but it won’t be easy. The team never gives up, they play as a team and the strikers can defend very well.”
The Dutch journalists also raised a question that was not at all related to the match with Slavia Prague. Specifically, Slota was asked if he will coach Ajax Amsterdam next season. The current strategist of the biggest Dutch club (Erik ten Hag) is reportedly heading to Manchester United.
“These are strange questions, now I am here with Feyenoord and I want to advance to the semi-finals.”
