We can win a lot of trophies, we’re pissed about our results! I want a Milan derby in the Champions League semi-finals, says Gosens

The national break is over and all players can now finally focus on club football again. In this case, Italian news server La Repubblica interviewed Inter midfielder Robin Gosens not only about the upcoming Champions League matches, but also about the Nerazzurri’s time in Serie A.
The Inter Milan players have a very busy April schedule ahead of them, with four games in the next 11 days. On Saturday 1 April they will challenge Fiorentina on their ground, three days later they will face Juventus in Turin in the Coppa Italia.
7. the Nerazzurri will play an away league game against Salernitana on 1 April and, to make matters worse, four days later they will play their first Champions League quarter-final match. This time it will be away again, at Benfica Lisbon.
In the second half of the month, Inter will play five matches: a rematch against Benfica on 19 April, a rematch against Juventus on 26 April and three league games against Monza, Empoli and Lazio.
While Inter are doing well in the Champions League, they look much more inconsistent on the domestic scene. In the last five games they have won only twice and lost three times (0:1 to Bologna, 1:2 to Spezia and 0:1 to Juventus).
In an interview with Italian news server La Repubblica, Gosens was asked what Inter’s mistake is, or why they have stumbled so many times recently.
We’ve got it right, but we’re pissed about the results!
“We have the quality to win many trophies, but we lack consistency in results. We know it, we talk about it and we’re p*ssed off about it. There are more factors. Little things that together make the difference – focus, movement, attitude,” Gosens explained.
“After big wins, we can’t do the mental reset we need. I think subconsciously we perceive that if we won against Barcelona, we can’t lose against Spezia. But that’s a big mistake, there are no easy games in Serie A,” he continues.
Gosens also concluded by touching on the Champions League, or rather the potential Milan derby in the semi-finals. If AC get past Napoli and Inter get past Benfica, fans can look forward to something absolutely unique. Namely, the Derby della Madonnina in the Champions League semi-finals.
“I would love to play AC in the semi-finals of the Champions League. I’ve been lucky enough to play the derby three times and it’s an incredible feeling. Maybe unique in the world. It’s the maximum you can experience playing. The pressure, the atmosphere, the tension. Think of it all in the Champions League semi-final,” Gosens concluded.
