Oktagon MMA breaks all boundaries
Oktagon MMA is growing at a breakneck pace in the world of mixed martial arts. Although it has been on the scene for a relatively short time, it has become the undisputed leader on the domestic scene, but according to the promoters, this is just the beginning of the journey.
This year has seen the organisation expand beyond the Czechoslovak borders. This past weekend, the second Oktagon tournament of the year took place in Frankfurt, Germany, and next year the organization will visit Munich.
But that’s not all. Oktagon is planning an invasion not only within Europe. Tournaments in the British Isles have already begun to be promoted and Oktagon has its own youtube channel aimed specifically at British fans.
Then in a recent interview Novotny confirmed that he likes the idea of holding galas in the Arab part of the world. Qatar could reportedly be the country that opens the way for Oktagon to go outside of Europe. What makes Oktagon different from other organizations?
Promoter Novotny describes what’s the magic of his organization
“Me and Palo (Pavol Neruda, co-owner of Oktagon) are not old fighters, unlike almost every other organization in the world,” said promoter Novotny in an interview with businesssoiree.
“We are actually more like artists, Pavol is addicted to photography, I am addicted to television, the film world,” he described the strengths of both promoters. “We see it in television, film, story,” he explained the strength of the organisation.
“The fight itself is the icing on the cake, and we serve you the cake one at a time, and you fall in love with it,” he likened the Oktagon tournaments to a favorite dish. “We just give the tournament a superstructure, a wrapper, a story, a show, an attraction, so that people get caught up in it, so that they enjoy it,” he said.
“We put extra lights, fireworks, shows, but mainly the stories, the emotions, the excitement, the tears, that’s what makes us different, unique,” he describes the uniqueness of his organization. “We are able to make much more beautiful tournaments in terms of appearance, story, and therefore also in terms of matches, under much more modest conditions than American organizations,” added the charismatic promoter.
