Wales vs. Switzerland: preview and betting tips
Italy is the clear favourite in Group A. However, all three teams can fight it out for second and third place. Wales, Switzerland and Turkey are all in with a chance of advancing and the first game could be crucial.

Wales was an underdog four years ago and not taken too seriously. But after a stunning run to the semi-finals at the 2016 European Championships, it is no longer to be underestimated. The Czech footballers saw this for themselves when they succumbed to the Gaelic Roosters in March.
The Swiss, on the other hand, have an experienced team, full of players from the best leagues, mostly from the Bundesliga. The biggest stars of the team are Xherdan Shaqiri from Liverpool and Granit Xhaka from Arsenal.
Wales will rely on Gareth Bale from Real Madrid, or perhaps Daniel James from Manchester United.
It is expected to be a fairly even match, but the Swiss are the slight favourites. They have won their last 6 matches and are in a great mood for the EURO. Wales, however, proved five years ago that even such a small country can surprise, crashing out in the semi-finals to a late winner from Portugal.
Not many goals have been scored in Wales’ games, with seven of the last 10 matches featuring one or fewer goals. Switzerland, on the other hand, have been scoring quite a lot of goals, with eight out of ten times 10 or more.
However, it is to be expected that both teams will want to play it safe in their first duel at the championship and not make any unnecessary mistakes that would put them one foot in front of the abyss.
