Bayern, Barcelona, Inter. That’s Pilsen’s group in the Champions League. Logically, it can’t compete with the first two teams, if it had a chance to surprise and score somewhere, it was at home against Inter. But Viktoria approached the game very timidly and in the 20th minute Džeko sent the visitors into the lead.

“Just a last sentence for the romantics who enjoyed Plzeň’s draw in the LM. Yesterday the team played objectively the most playable game in the group. It was the driest 0:2 loss, shots on target 1:7 and possession 31:69. It’s only going to get harder from here. I would rather see Plzeň fight for points,” wrote a fan on Twitter.

“Inter realistically don’t even play at half throttle, literally a walking pace, and Plzen have trouble getting through the half. Today is the only day they could have made any points in the group, and they approached it like this, well,” another fan added.

“Plzen – Inter 0::2. Today we are without a point, just like a week ago, and with this kind of performance we probably won’t be able to do it in the remaining matches. It was quite far from a goal scored, as well as zero at the back,” wrote an account dedicated to the Coefficient.

“Pilsen needs to shake off its shyness before the fighting in its Champions League group is over. Inter put in a machine-perfect performance today, and the hosts did not make it too difficult for them to carry out their plan,” wrote journalist Luděk Mádl.

“If I evaluated the match with Barcelona as in some ways positive for Plzeň, I don’t know what it will take from the duel with Inter. Waiting for death, total depression, minimum positive thoughts, but there are plenty of positions for some forward combination. Moreover, an ugly foul by Bucha,” wrote journalist Martin Vait.

Plzeň was also evaluated in Italy. The lowest mark (4) was given to Pavel Bucha, who saw a red card. On the other hand, the highest-rated Viktoria player according to Le Pagelle newspaper was Jindřich Staněk, who received a seven. The other players were in the range of 5-5.5.

Plzeň did not escape comparison with Slavia. The latter faced Inter three years ago and gave a much bolder and more sympathetic performance.

“Plzen – Inter 0::2 today… 31%::69%, shots 8::17, shots on target 1::7
Slavia – Inter 1::3 then… 59%::41%, shots 15::13, shots on target 5::5.
Inter – Slavia 1::1… 55%::45%, shots 17::12, shots on target 6::5
A marked difference in terms of advertising for the Czech club,”
wrote a fan on Twitter.
