Forward Tomas Wagner spent last season with the Cypriot team Nea Salamina Famagusta. Unfortunately, even his seventeen goals were not enough to save him from the Cypriot elite. The experienced striker will not help his former employer to return to the top competition. This week he signed for Romanian side UTA Arad.

Thirty-one-year-old Wágner tried out his first foreign engagement last season. He wore the jersey of the Cypriot club Nea Salamina Famagusta, which he did not help to save in the top competition, but he could be very satisfied personally.

The Pribrami graduate played in thirty matches in which he scored seventeen goals. It was clear that after such a successful season he would not be playing for Famagusta in the second league.

It was expected that a team from the Cypriot top flight might look for him, but this did not happen.

This season the striker will wear the jersey of Romanian club UTA Arad.

“I’m happy to be here, everything is going well so far and I hope it will be the same in the matches. I’ve seen some shots of the local fans and they seem really great. I really like the team too, so I thought I’d give it a try, said Tomas Wagner just after signing the contract with his new employer.

Wágner would like to be as productive again as he was in Cyprus. He is also aware that he is eight league goals short of joining the league’s cannon club.
