The 22-year-old tennis player is not going through an ideal period at the moment. The last time Vondroušová stepped on the tennis court was in mid-April, when she entered a tournament in Stuttgart.
However, it was here that she lost to Tunisian Ons Dzhabourova in the first round, and the native of Sokolov finally declared an early end to her clay court season.
The reason was pain in her left wrist, so Vondroušová decided to go on a rest regime, but it did not have the desired effect. With constant difficulties, she decided to solve the whole situation surgically.

“The last few weeks have not been easy. I felt a constant pain in my wrist and after consulting with several doctors I decided to undergo a small surgery to be able to play without pain. But I’m trying to stay positive and I can’t wait to get back on the court, ” Vondrousova told her fans on Instagram.
Wrist problems have cost our tennis player tournaments in Madrid, Rome, Strasbourg and Paris.
However, it was at Rolland Garros that Vondroušová reached the final three years ago. Back then, the 19-year-old rising star knocked Carla Suárez Navarro, Petra Martic and Johanna Konta from the tournament.
But in that final, Vondrousova was beaten by Ashleigh Barty. Although the Czech tennis player failed to reach the very top, it was a very successful tournament for her.
