VIDEO: Thunder! Černý played with the opponent’s defense and scored his tenth goal of the season

Václav Černý is having a great season. It is his most successful year in the Eredivisie, at least in terms of goals. That’s how he last played with the Sittard defence.

Ever since he was young, Václav Černý has been regarded as a huge talent in Czech football. He went to Ajax Amsterdam as a youth player and excelled even in the renowned youth. For example, he scored 15 goals in 28 games for the Ajax B-team in the 2016/17 season.

Thus, he also peeked into the Ajax first team, but did not make his mark for a long time. After a loan spell at Utrecht, he left for Twente, and there he is developing his full potential. In his first season he recorded a 6+6 record, but in the last season the numbers dropped and he scored only one goal and an assist.

But since the start of the current season, Cerny has really hit the ground running. In 23 games, he has already scored 9 goals and added 5 assists, with another goal in the Conference League.

He has been in great form especially since the beginning of the new year. Since the end of January, he has collected 5 goals and 3 assists in 9 league games. On Saturday against Sittard he scored a goal and an assist, and he did the same against Heerenveen last week.

Against Sittard, the match was even for a long time, until in the 67th minute, Cerny worked a cross from Zerrouki on the right wing, headed the ball into the box against two opponents, got rid of them with a hilarious jam and shot between the legs of the home stopper.

Four minutes later, Twente added another goal and just six minutes later, Cerny set up Ugalde’s second.

Twente are now fifth in the Eredivisie with a 3:0 win. Another Czech Michal Sadilek is injured.
