Everton footballers welcomed the penultimate team in the league table – Bournemouth – on Saturday in the eighth round of the Premier League. The home team won 3: 0, with Jack Harrison making a great show in the match.
The home side got off to a better start in the eighth round of the Premier League when James Garner opened the scoring in the eighth minute.
The 22-year-old Everton midfielder took advantage of a midfield error committed by one of Bournemouth’s players to score his second goal of the season. His first came in an EFL Cup match against Aston Villa.
But it was not all for the home side. They still created a few chances during the first half, but Everton’s second goal came only after a fantastic shot by Jack Harrison.
The twenty-six year old midfielder got to the ball, which was headed in his direction by goalkeeper Neto. In any case, Harrison didn’t hesitate too much and struck the ball as best he could, resulting in a beautiful goal.
It was only Harrison’s second start in the English top flight since he missed the start of the season through injury.
He played 45 minutes against Luton, but against Bournemouth he played a lot more minutes when he was substituted in the 77th minute. Harrison therefore notched his first goal of the season. And that wasn’t all.
The Stoke native still assisted Everton’s third goal in the 60th minute, scored by Abdoulaye Doucoure. Harrison’s shot was blocked, the Mali midfielder headed the ball into the net from the level of the penalty spot.
Everton won by three goals and moved up to fifteenth place in the league table with seven points. Wolverhampton also have the same number of points, but they are yet to play their match. Bournemouth are still nineteenth with three points.
