VIDEO: Ronaldo as a proper captain! First he converted a direct kick, then he gave away a penalty to his teammate

Cristiano Ronaldo was nominated to the Portuguese national team this week and it obviously lifted his spirits. On Saturday, he shone in the Saudi Arabian league for the first time in a while, scoring a goal and proving himself a true captain.
Al-Nassr lost the top spot in Saudi Arabia’s top competition after the last league match when they fell short in the battle for the top spot against the current leader, which is Al-Ittihad team.
It is then worth mentioning that in the last three matches of the Riyadh team, the star Cristiano Ronaldo, who shone in the previous duels, was almost completely silent statistically. In the last three matches he has only picked up a yellow card.
Despite the failed duels, he was announced in the Portugal squad’s nomination this week, with qualification for the European Championships, hosted by Germany next year, starting after this weekend.
This has clearly lifted Ronaldo’s spirits and mood after the not-so-good matches and it was evident in Saturday’s clash with Abha, a team holding twelfth position in the 16-team competition.
Abha led 1:0 from the 6th minute after Abdulfattah Adam’s goal, however Al-Nassr were the better side in the match and it was on full display in the second half, despite failing to score from play.
In the 79th minute, Ronaldo started the turnaround by scoring from a direct kick to level the match at 1-1. He scored his ninth goal in his new career.
Then in the 86th minute, Al-Nassr converted a penalty kick and Ronaldo acted like a true captain. He left the execution of the penalty to his teammate Anderson Talisca, who was returning from a short injury.
