At the end of next week, the Bundesliga will start another season. Several footballers from the Czech Republic will be joining the Bundesliga next season. Jiří Pavlenka is also looking forward to returning to the top German competition, as he will once again defend the jersey of Werder Bremen. However, his preparation has not been very successful so far.
Werder has had a bad experience in the second league. This could last longer than one season. Bremen didn’t do so well at the beginning, but it was a drama until the end.
The turning point, when the famous team started to thrive, came more or less at the moment when the popular Jiří Pavlenka won his place among the three poles. However, his future was uncertain. His contract was due to expire in the summer.
However, he has extended it and will try to do his best with Werder to prevent another relegation of the traditional participant of the highest competition. However, the former Baník and Slavia goalkeeper has not been doing too well in his preparation.
He made a rather big mistake in the match against Karlsruhe, when he hit one of the opponents’ players while trying to throw the ball towards his teammates, which made it easy to set up a goal.
And he can’t have a clear conscience after the game against Twente either. He only watched the first goal he got. The second one he more or less caused. He received the ball from a teammate and two of the opposing players attacked him. Instead of hitting the ball to safety, he tried to play constructively, which didn’t work this time.
To make matters worse, Pavlenka also committed a penalty. However, he repaired his reputation and made an excellent save.
Let’s hope that the otherwise great goalkeeper has already picked up his unlucky moments and will help Werder as much as he can in the new season.
