Cristiano Ronaldo on Saturday could celebrate his first trophy since the 2020/21 season. His Al-Nassr beat Al-Hilal in the final of the Arab Club Championship and the Portuguese idol became the hero of the match. The Real Madrid legend could have also scored a hat-trick, but one of the other team’s defenders was up against it.

After eight months, he finally got his chance. Although he missed out on the trophy for the winner of the Saudi Arabian Football League, Cristiano Ronaldo was able to celebrate on Saturday. Moreover, he was the hero of his team.

A-Nassr reached the final of the Arab Club Championship, where they played Al-Hilal. Sako Fofana, Sadio Mané, Marcelo Brozovic and Alex Telles have already played with Ronaldo in the same team.

Kalidou Koulibaly, Rúben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom, a former Barcelona player, have already played for Al-Hilal.

In the 51st minute, Al-Hilal took the lead after a goal from Michael and things were not looking good for Al-Nasser. Moreover, in the 71st minute, Ronaldo and his teammates played shorthanded after Al Amri was sent off.

But three minutes after the red card for his teammate, Ronaldo scored the equalizer to make it 1-1. This state of affairs lasted until the end of regulation time, however, the Portuguese could have decided his team’s victory in injury time.

He had a great chance which he would have converted but for a fantastic defensive save by one of the defenders. Al Boleahi took care of it.

The game went into extra time, but it didn’t lead to a win for Al-Hilal. On the contrary. Ronaldo scored the second goal and secured the win for Al-Nassr. He won the team’s first trophy since 2021 and was also the competition’s top scorer with six goals.
