VIDEO: Goal from the middle of the field! Watch Victor Edvardsen’s brilliant goal against APOEL

In addition to the three Champions League matches, this Wednesday brings one Europa League match, namely Djurgården from Sweden against APOEL from Cyprus. After the first half, the Swedes lead 1:0 thanks to a great goal by Victor Edvardsen, who scored from the middle of the field!

Rijeka, Sepsi and now APOEL – Djurgården meets its third opponent in the Conference League Preliminary Round, with the Swedes knocking out the Croatian side 4: 1 overall and also having no problems in the double-header with Sepsi (6: 2 overall).

APOEL is not so sovereign yet. The Cypriot side first knocked out Botev Plovdiv, which after an away goalless draw was only decided in a home game (2::0). In the next round APOEL had a rather big problem with Kyzylzhar (1::0, 0::0).

The favourite for this double-duel is therefore Djurgården, who are currently leading 1::0 at home after half-time. In the ninth minute, Edvardsen made a truly extraordinary save.

As far as the half-time statistics are concerned, coach Bergstrand’s charges confirm their role as slight favourites, having produced a total of 5 shooting attempts so far. However, only two of them went between the three bars.

In Sweden, however, we are witnessing quite balanced football, which is to be expected from this match.

However, the current season is very interesting for Djurgården – after 18 matches this team is in second place in the top Swedish competition, with a three-point lead over third-placed Hammarby and only one point behind the leader Häcken. The Cypriot league does not start until 27 August.
