American football, baseball and basketball are among the absolute top on the popularity scale on US soil.

Whether it’s the NFL, MLB or the aforementioned NBA, there’s always a big show around the games, not to mention the finals series.

It was no different at the top of this year’s most prestigious basketball league in the world, where the Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets have been competing so far.

Irish MMA fighter and now martial arts legend Conor McGregor was in attendance for the 4th clash between the two teams. The presence of not only sports icons is more than common in such duels.

However, during the break, a situation arose that Miami fans do not remember in a good way. The Irishman went after Burnie, the home team’s mascot.

Miami’s home mascot gesticulated and soon regretted it. McGregor sent him down with a hard left hook.

To make matters worse, the MMA fighter landed another punch on “Burnie” just as the mascot lay helpless on the ground. After the incident, the man was reportedly rushed to the intensive care unit.

Moreover, the Irishman used the situation to market another of his products. This time it was a plant-based regeneration spray (Tidl). McGregor ironically used it on the mascot’s face.

The puncher introduced the regenerative product as part of the McGregor FAST training program he set up a few years ago.

Since his heyday inside the octagon, the Dublin native has launched several business ventures, and McGregor FAST is one of them.

Among other things, he went on to found his own Irish whiskey brand called Proper No. Twelve or a clothing line.

Not only these ventures make him one of the highest earning athletes of today. However, to the sadness of all his fans, controversial moments are literally sticking to his heels.
