A relatively unprecedented goal was seen in the top Australian Football League. The leading team Western United challenged WS Wanderers at home and the match offered five goals. But one of them was truly exceptional.
Western United, the leading team in the Australian A-League, challenged eighth-placed WS Wanderers and it was certainly something to watch. Five goals were scored in the match and the home side celebrated the win.
But one goal stood out from the rest. Twenty-six-year-old left back Benjamin Garuccio scored for the second time in a 2-1 win for Western United.
He scored his opening goal in the first-half stoppage time, but in the 68th minute he opened the scoring in spectacular fashion.
After a centre from the left side of the pitch, he finished with a kick called a scorpion, hitting the ball with his heel behind. You can watch the goal in the attached video.
A goal worth waiting years for 🤯🔥
Ben Garuccio’s creativity will be remembered for years and years, coming up with this AUDACIOUS scorpion goal. 🦂

Garuccio really enjoyed the goal celebration, he will most likely never score a goal like that again in his life.
Thanks to his goal, United led 3-1 and that goal was ultimately the winning goal as the visitors reduced the lead to the final 3-2 late in the game.
After fifteen rounds, Western United are in first place with 23 points. Behind them is the Melbourne City team with a point loss, but they have played one more game.
