OKTAGON 43 offered a spectacular show, great matches and it was probably the biggest tournament in the history of the domestic scene. That’s why our biggest star Jiří Procházka was watching everything live. What is his reaction to the Patrik Kincl vs. Karlos Vémola match?
The battle we have been waiting for for five years is over. Patrik Kincl defeated Karlos Vémola after a five-round bout, thus atoning for the loss from the first contest. In addition, he defended his middleweight title and can look forward to more interesting challenges.
He overcame his health problems, managed to cope with the enormous pressure and answered clearly all the doubters that he might not be able to make the fight, mainly because of his head, which, along with his heart, was also questioned by Vemola.
The biggest possible Czech fight was also watched right in the O2 Arena by Jiri Prochazka, the most successful domestic fighter and former UFC champion, who is now starting to prepare for his comeback.
The native of South Moravia is familiar with both Kinclo and Vemola, having trained with both many times. Therefore, many people were understandably interested in how he saw the fight, which was very specific.
Vémola, in fact, pushed Kinclo to the fence for five rounds and tried to deliver a takedown, but nothing was going his way and the Inspector, although under pressure, kept peppering him with punches that caused huge damage to the Terminator’s face.
“Unique. Bravura. The key is always to adapt. Patrik adapted and won,” praised the champion Walk for the Willy Cao channel.
“Karlos had to invent. He should have thought of ways to win if he really wanted to win. The pressure was unique, but Patrik figured out a way and the win is home,” added the star fighter.
Procházka also praised the atmosphere in the O2 Arena. He said it would be a dream for him to experience something similar in Prague with the UFC, ideally during a title defence.
