Czech Mates is the nickname that the Czech duo Soucek-Coufal have earned at West Ham. A younger version of Czech Mates 2 may be taking shape in the Czech national team camp! Who?
Czech Mates is the nickname that the Czech duo Soucek-Coufal have earned at West Ham. A younger version of Czech Mates 2 may be taking shape in the Czech national team camp! Who? UEFA wants to offer viewers a different perspective on footballers and has filmed a quiz for Euro fans ahead of the quarter-final match. Starring the duo Alex Král and David Zima, there was no shortage of fun!
Alex Král hasn’t shone at the European Championships so far. He has appeared in the starting eleven of coach Jaroslav Šilhavy only in the opening match against Scotland. However, the Spartak Moscow midfielder looks fine and he seems to be enjoying his time with the team, which is only good. His key time on the pitch may yet come.
The Slav player David Zima is in an even more difficult situation and it may well happen that he will not even start for one minute at the Euro. The pair of central defenders Čelůstka-Kalas are performing above expectations so far and there is no reason to touch them.
There was a positive energy radiating from the special quiz and you can feel that both players have accepted their roles and are happy. Which is extremely important for team success. They are playing for the Czech Republic and not for themselves. See France, where after a failure, the players point fingers at each other and blame each other for what.
Quiz by Alex Kral and David Zima
The format of the quiz has been made fun. Players were given paper and a marker and always answered the question via paper. Correctly they should not look under their hands, hide their paper, write the answer and then turn the paper with the answer over to the camera.
First question! “What would you steal from the other person?” Here, King and Zima had a little laugh at the unexpectedly awkward question and agreed to direct UEFA to answer unequivocally! “Nothing.”
The second question “What can’t you live without?”, here the young players’ answers diverged! David Zima had on his paper the answer “phone” and Alex King shocked “Houštecky” (assistant coach at Slavia Prague Zdeněk Houštecký).
The last question was “One thing you definitely wouldn’t want from your teammate?”. Here, the Sešiovans’ stopper didn’t mind and teased Alex with a “hair”. The former Spartak Moscow player countered with “mlaskání”. Anyway, the atmosphere was positive, hopefully the positivity will continue after the match with Denmark.
