Bayern are experiencing something they are definitely not used to in the current competition year, failure. In the league, they are in second place, 13 points behind first-placed Leverkusen. And in the domestic cup they were knocked out in the round of 16 against Saarbrücken.
However, they are still in the Champions League, where they will face Arsenal in the quarter-finals. For fans of the Munich giant, however, this is scant consolation after such a botched season.
Thus, the club’s management lost patience some time ago with current coach Thomas Tuchel, who will leave the most successful German side in history at the end of the season.
Tuchel became the replacement for Julian Nagelsmann and eventually led Bayern to the championship title last season.
Although fortunate, the reigning champion’s success was mainly due to Borussia Dortmund, who failed to win their last league game.
“We have agreed to end our cooperation at the end of this season. Until then, of course, I will do everything in my power to achieve maximum success with the coaching team,” Tuchel said in an earlier official Bayern statement.
Tuchel will receive his full salary without bonuses
However, following the recent official statement, coach Tuchel has entered into a new agreement with Bayern. The latter concerns the financial aspect, the still current coach of the Munich giant will receive his full salary without bonuses for the early termination of his contract.
Tuchel will thus earn roughly ten million euros gross. At the same time, the 50-year-old coach can start his new potential job at the beginning of July without his new employer needing to come to an agreement with the Bavarian club.
