Trying to scare off takers? Dortmund set a huge price for their star
Jude Bellingham will be one of the most in-demand players in the world next year. He recently celebrated his 19th birthday but has already played 100 games for Borussia Dortmund. And the club doesn’t want to let their gem go under, so they’ve set a huge price tag.
Jude Bellingham will be one of the most in-demand players in the world next year. He recently celebrated his 19th birthday but has already played 100 games for Borussia Dortmund. And the club doesn’t want to let their gem go under, so they’ve set a huge price tag.
Dortmund know how to value their players perfectly. Buy cheap, sell dear, that’s Borussia’s philosophy. Jadon Sancho came from Manchester City for 20 million euros, four years later Borussia sold him for 85 million euros.
Earlier again, they brought Ousmane Dembélé for €35m and sold him to Barcelona for €125m after only a year. They made a profit on Haaland too (€20m – €65m), but the price was quite low considering his qualities, but it was due to the buyout clause.
Bellingham doesn’t have that and Borussia have unlimited room to negotiate. They don’t want to get rid of their star players, but they never hold on to their players at any price and if the right offer comes along, they let their stars take the next step in their careers.
The departure of Bellingham is sort of being considered, although Borussia don’t want to hear about it yet. However, already next year Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid are supposed to be knocking on the door. A truly elite selection.
A return to his native England would probably be the most natural, however Real Madrid is the next step and they are very keen on Bellingham. In fact, they are slowly parting ways with the legendary midfield of Casemiro – Kroos – Modric, the first named has already left, the other two have the last years of their careers ahead of them.
Los Blancos have already been gradually prepared by Valverde, Camavinga and Tchouameni, but the last piece to the puzzle remains. And that is Bellingham. But for that, Florentino Pérez will have to prepare a hefty package.
Dortmund, according to the renowned newspaper The Athletic, have set a price of 150 million euros for Bellingham.
the 19-year-old midfielder has a contract at Signal Iduna Park until 2025. He came from Birmingham for 25 million euros, and it is already clear that Borussia will value him again.
