Tottenham is plagued by a coronavirus that has quarantined the entire team. Because of this, the match in the European Conference League against Stade Rennes was postponed, and Leicester is also experiencing similar problems, but they will play the match.
Tottenham came out with a statement on Wednesday evening saying that Thursday’s match with Stade Rennes has been postponed and will be played at another date.
This is due to the high number of positive coronavirus cases in the squad, which affects not only the players but also the management team. The club therefore requested the postponement and it was granted.
Moreover, in the interest of the health and safety of the players, the club has been advised to close the training centre and further matches will also be postponed.
A similar problem is being addressed at Leicester, where they are registering seven absences due to both illness and coronavirus. Furthermore, three members of the management team are positive.
Nevertheless, Leicester will join the Europa League match at the ground of Napoli and will try to advance to the knockout stage.
Group C couldn’t be more evenly matched, with Leicester leading it with eight points, but second-placed Spartak Moscow and third-placed Napoli have only one point less. Fourth-placed Legia have six points, so anyone can advance.
