Tottenham still haven’t found a full-time coach after sacking Jose Mourinho. The search has been going on for more than two months and now the English outfit was supposed to get the bin from the Spanish coach.

Tottenham have been searching for a new coach for over two months. After the sacking of Jose Mourinho, Ryan Mason did take over the team on a temporary basis, but that was only counted on as a temporary replacement.

Spurs tried to bring Antonio Conte, however, they could not reach an agreement with the Italian coach, who is now on a free transfer.

This was followed by an attempt to sign Gennaro Gattuso, who ended his engagement with Fiorentina after three weeks. But that didn’t work either.

In addition, Tottenham were also interested in Paul Fonseca, whom Mourinho replaced at AS Roma, also without success.

Now Tottenham tried to bring Julen Lopetegui from Sevilla, but also unsuccessfully. The coach, whose reputation was badly tarnished by his time at Real Madrid, wants to stay in Andalusia.

“Julen called me and said he was not going anywhere. Some coaches are driven by economic factors, but Lopetegui is happy with us. He even said he would have a hard time finding a better place to work,” Sevilla president Jose Castro was overheard saying.

It should be mentioned that Lopetegui is doing a great job of repairing his tarnished reputation at Sevilla. He got the club into the Champions League and spent a long time attacking the top of the table last season.
