Years ago, Callum Hudson-Odoi was considered a highly talented footballer who was predicted to have a huge future in a Chelsea jersey. Now he is expected to strengthen Fulham.

In 2019, the English footballer managed to break into the first team of Chelsea London. After impressing on the pre-season tour, the then coach of the team, Maurizio Sarri, decided to keep him in the A-team.

The squad was later taken over by Frank Lampard, who, due to the transfer embargo imposed on Chelsea, was betting on the club’s offspring. Everything pointed to the possibility that Hudson-Odoi could become a successful footballer.

His impressive performances led to Bayern Munich offering a sum of around 70 million euros for him. However, the management of the London club saw huge potential in the footballer and rejected the offer.

But the winger gradually disappeared from the squad more and more, until he was finally sent on loan to Bayer Leverkusen in Germany before the last season, where he became a teammate of Adam Hložek and Patrik Schick.

His loan spell could definitely be categorized as very unsuccessful. Under Xabi Alonso, he played only fourteen league games and recorded one single assist.

He is currently in the last year of his contract at Chelsea and is not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans. The club is therefore open to selling him.

According to the latest reports, his new destination would be Fulham, who are in advanced negotiations with Chelsea regarding his permanent transfer. The only problem could be the transfer fee.

Fulham would like to bring the footballer for a fee of just under €5 million (£4 million), however Chelsea are demanding at least double that. So the two clubs will negotiate a compromise.
