Men’s football has its own tradition and is watched by millions of fans around the world. Unfortunately, the numbers are declining, but the opposite is true for women’s football.
For many, it is still an unexplored part of the world’s most popular sport. Last year saw the highest attendance in history and even the most expensive transfer in history.
Many well-known Premier League teams did not have their women’s teams, but that changed recently when the local competition made this a rule.
This has raised the awareness of women’s football once again and currently we can see Manchester United, which was founded in 2018, at the top of the English Womens Super League.
This league offers us some really good matches and it is only a matter of time before it convinces other fans to watch it. This is already being helped by the good-looking female footballers running around the pitches.
Today, we’ve put together five of what we consider to be the best-looking female footballers who currently belong to one of the teams in England’s top women’s competition.
Ivana Ferreira Fuso
Twenty-two-year-old Brazilian striker Ivana Ferreira Fuso belongs to Manchester United, a team she joined in the summer of 2020. Although she is Brazilian and was born in that country, she grew up playing football in Germany.
She started out at SV Böblingen and in 2016 moved to Freiburg, where she worked her way up from the youth to the A-team. She then moved to Basel, where she was scouted by the Red Devils after a short time.
Fuso represented Germany in the youth, but then had a choice of which country to represent and chose her native Brazil. She has already made several starts there. She is currently a guest player at Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.
Alisha Lehmann
Probably the most famous footballer of the five. Twenty-four-year-old Swiss Alisha Lehmann has been captivating with her beauty for several years, although she has mentioned several times that she is not comfortable with it.
She would rather be known for her football skills, which she used to dig up an engagement in the English Super League. She is currently a player at Aston Villa, where she joined in 2021.
In the past, she was at Young Boys Bern, from which she was bought by West Ham. She was briefly a guest at Everton and is a regular in the Swiss national football team, with whom she can look forward to the World Cup this summer.
Czech fans of women’s football may remember her from the match against our team, the Czechs were unlucky to go down to penalty kicks in the Euro barrage. Lehmann was a successful goal scorer.
Anouk Denton
The 19-year-old West Ham United defender does not have a long career behind her. But the youth international has a lot of potential.
Her first club was St Albans City, where she played for five years. She then moved to Arsenal, where she played just one minute against Tottenham.
She went to study in the USA, where she played for the Louisville Cardinals. On her return to the Islands, she was bought by West Ham, where she is now trying to break into the starting line-up.
She is currently sitting on the bench and only played against Manchester United, in the cup the coach gave her a chance against Chelsea.
Sofie Lundgaard
Danish footballer Sofie Lundgaard also made it into our ranking. The 20-year-old player has strengthened the English Liverpool in January this year, which is definitely not satisfied with its position in the table.
The young Aalborg-born midfielder is a member of her country’s youth national teams and has spent most of her career with Fortuna Hjørring.
There she played 77 games, but she already felt she needed to move on in her career. Since her arrival at Liverpool, she has featured regularly, albeit only from the bench.
She has already played seven league games and is currently on a reunion with the Danish U23 national team, for whom she played a full game against Iceland three days ago.
Mayumi Pacheco
Twenty-four-year-old defender Mayumi Pacheco, who plays for Aston Villa alongside Alisha Lehmann, must not be missing from the selection. However, she has tried out for other teams in the past.
Pacheco played for Liverpool in the youth, making her A-team debut in 2015. After that, she was a guest at Doncaster, which she later transferred to.
She also spent two years at Reading and in 2020 her services were requested by West Ham. There she lasted one year and then moved to Aston Villa, where she is a regular member of the starting lineup.
Pacheco has also been a member of England’s youth national teams, but is still waiting for her debut in the senior team. However, given the packed squad, it won’t be easy.
