Cadiz remain in the relegation zone and Real Betis in the cup positions. Friday’s La Liga match was dominated by Manuel Pellegrini’s charges. With social media primarily praising the resurgence of midfielder Pablo Fornals.

Betis was much better in the match, especially in the first half, and could have scored more than one goal. When Pablo Fornals scored after the change of sides, the game was essentially over. Real Betis could be satisfied with the result and performance after a long time.

Pablo Fornals was unwanted at West Ham

West Ham didn’t manage to complete his sale before the end of the transfer window. Pablo Fornals still went to Betis in the end. At West Ham for the last two seasons, he had been picking up minutes by the dozen. And the change of engagement was the logical outcome.

In the last round the Spaniard made his first appearance in the green and white, this time he made his debut in the starting line-up. And in the 46th minute he scored a beautiful technical shot to make it 2:0. The left-back wrapped the ball around as Hammers fans had become accustomed to in the early years of Fornals’ involvement.

“Pablo, well done. I’m so glad you found a club and a coach that will allow you to enjoy football again. You deserve better than Moyes,” wrote user Dirk in a liked comment below the YouTube cut of La Liga. In the interests of objectivity, however, it must be added that the pace of the Premier League fornals of recent months hasn’t really kept up.

Betis can go up

The Spanish league will suit Fornals better, while adding to Betis’ already interesting offensive options. Isco has been in great form this season, with a large part of the Spanish public even calling for his nomination for this summer’s European Championships.

“Betis has a great team. As soon as some players get better, Pellegrini will start to work his magic,” Gabriel’s supporter reacted primarily to Isco‘s injury, which did not affect Betis’ performance on Friday. The Sevilla side is still missing Argentine international Guido Rodriguez and stopper Marc Bartra.

Betis definitely has more to do than how they performed in the fall. They were relegated from the Europa League to the Conference, but here, on the other hand, by all accounts, they have a better chance to go further. If Fornals can catch the form from their previous Spanish engagement (Villarreal), they will be one of the favourites.
