Three teams are battling it out for the lead, but only one of them can become the new Premier League champions. The competition is peaking, and as we look at the remaining rounds, we find one team that can decide the title. Who is it?

According to many, the best football competition in the world is entering its peak phase. Three teams are fighting for the title, and although defending champions Manchester City are considered the biggest favourites, City would love to thwart Liverpool or Arsenal along the way.

The London club took part in the city derby with Chelsea yesterday and declassed their rivals 5:0. Arsenal lead the competition by three points over Liverpool, but Jürgen Klopp’s team has a game in hand. Even two extra games are to be played by third placed City, who are a point behind the Reds.

What kind of schedule do the English title aspirants have before the end of May? All three lists have one denominator, which may ultimately become the tongue on the title scales. It’s Tottenham Hotspur.

For the number of games, Pepe Guardiola’s charges have the most demanding schedule. The Spanish strategist has seven more games before the end of the season, six league games and then City will have the FA Cup final against city rivals United as a farewell to the season.

Tottenham will meet all the title aspirants

Before that, though, a title defence is on the cards. And beyond that, the road ahead is this. First a pair of away games at Brighton and Nottingham, followed by a home clash against Wolves. Then City travel to London twice again, to Fulham and Tottenham.

The defending champions will finish the 2023/2024 season with a home game against West Ham. That they won’t be celebrating the title in Manchester is surely what both Arsenal and Liverpool fans want. The Reds, of all people, have only five league games left to play.

The roadto a potential 20th title for the currently second team in the competition leads through a derby at Everton, a trip to West Ham and a home duel with the aforementioned Tottenham. It is followed by Aston Villa away and finishing at Anfield Road with Wolves.

After yesterday’s win over Chelsea, the last title aspirant, Arsenal, has just four more duels on the schedule. And the first of those is at Tottenham. Then at home to Bournemouth, followed by a trip to Old Trafford, home of Manchester United. It all ends for Arsenal with Everton.

It’s an interesting programme for all the players in the title plot. And it may be decided by the mutual duels with Tottenham, which is the only team that will meet all those involved before the end of the Premier League. But only Liverpool have it on their own ground. Who will rejoice in the end?
