Bruno Guimaraes was Newcastle United’s most expensive signing in January, but it took him a while to get into the line-up. Now, however, he is one of the key players and has helped his team to make a huge move up the table. He would love to welcome one of his countrymen to the north of England, he also spoke about the fans in England.

When Bruno Guimaraes arrived at Newcastle in January, his new employer was in the relegation places and things were not looking good. Now the Magpies are in the top half of the table and, mathematically at least, still have a chance of European Cups.

The Brazilian, although he took some time to acclimatise, has been one of the key players in the team’s rise in results and play under Eddie Howe. He is already so comfortable at the club that he would even recommend coming to St. James’ Park to his best friend.

Guimaraes dreams of the arrival of his former Lyon teammate and compatriot Lucas Paqueta. The latter is one of the best players of the famous French club and as Guimaraes says, it was at Lyon that they developed an almost fraternal relationship, even their wives enjoy playing together.

Paqueta may be remembered, for example, by Sparta fans. Against the Prague side, the Lyon star shone with a great performance and a goal at Letná.

“It would be really great if he could come here. But unfortunately I can’t find players for our team myself,” Goal quoted the Brazilian as saying.

Guimaraes has really taken a liking to life in Newcastle, especially the Magpies fans who fascinate him with their passion for the club. “Few clubs in England have a fan base like Newcastle. It’s hard to play against us at home. I honestly didn’t expect it to be like this,” says the Brazilian.

Wherever he goes, the fans go crazy around him. He says it’s hard not to have his head in the clouds when fans chant his name even after he wins a spot kick for his team.
