Money makes the world go round, but buying the most expensive and valuable players doesn’t mean success, as both PSG and Manchester City have found out in recent years in the Champions League. But what would an eleven of the world’s most valuable players look like?

Thibaut Courtois – Real Madrid – €60 million

Nothing to talk about here, currently the best goalkeeper in the world, who led Real Madrid to winning both La Liga and the Champions League last season. The website Transfermarkt has assigned him a value of 60 million euros, but his price is rather priceless, as Los Blancos wouldn’t sell him for any amount.

Josko Gvardiol – Leipzig – €75 million

Leipzig sensation. Only 21 years old, the stopper impressed not only in the Bundesliga, but especially at the World Cup, where he won bronze with Croatia. There is huge interest in his services from all top clubs and he is likely to leave for more than €75 million.

Rubén Dias – Manchester City – €75 million

Manchester City’s defensive leader, plus at stopper at a still young age (25), which also plays a part in the value. He is also the number one stopper in the Portuguese national team.

Matthijs De Ligt – Bayern Munich – €70 million

Once a huge talent and the youngest Ajax captain in history, his career took a bit of a hit at Juventus and he was slightly forgotten, his value dropping from €75 million to €65. But his summer transfer to Bayern worked out well, he’s playing regularly and at 23 still has his whole career ahead of him.

Jude Bellingham – Borussia Dortmund – €110 million

The most brilliant teenager of our time. And also the hottest commodity on the transfer market. He has his pick of suitors, the whole world wants him. Dortmund will demand more than his value, reportedly up to 150 million euros.

Pedri – Barcelona – 100 million euros

The director of the Blaugranas game, who at a very young age became an absolutely key player for Barcelona. He is still only 20 years old, his value is already reaching 100 million euros.

Jamal Musiala – Bayern Munich – €100 million

Another Bundesliga player, Jamal Musiala, will complete the trio of young and lauded midfielders. He too is only 20 years old, but already Bayern rely on him as one of their most important players.

Phil Foden – Manchester City – €110 million

On the right wing, Phil Foden is the most expensive one. The Manchester City graduate is a terrific footballer and Transfermarkt has valued him at €110 million. At just 22 years old, he already has 4 Premier League titles to his name.

Vinícius Junior – Real Madrid – €120 million

Moving into attack, we also come across the very most expensive players. Third on the list is Brazilian Vinícius Junior of Real Madrid. The 22-year-old winger has 19 goals and 9 assists this season.

Erling Haaland – Manchester City – 170 million euros

In the attacking pair, the sums go up a bit more. The second most valuable player in the world is Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. The 22-year-old striker netted 28 goals in 26 games in his debut season in the Premier League and will battle with Kylian Mbappé for the title of the world’s best player in the coming years.

Kylian Mbappé – PSG – €180 million

Football’s king, at least in terms of value, is Kylian Mbappé. The PSG striker is, according to many, also the best footballer in the world at the moment, and he will share this position with Haaland in the future. However, his value is not that significant, as he could leave Paris for free in 2024 if he wanted to.
