Chelsea London is expected to announce an exciting signing in the next few days! One of Manchester City’s biggest stars, Raheem Sterling, is to be brought in from Manchester City. He has already agreed personal terms, so how much will the Blues send to Manchester for him?
The 27-year-old winger will be the first significant signing for Chelsea in this summer transfer window.
In fact, CBS Soccer has reported that Sterling has already agreed personal terms, with the Blues set to send £45 million to the reigning champion.
The Kingston native has reportedly been persuaded by his role at the club. According to him, he will have more space under coach Thomas Tuchel. Necessary details have yet to be finalised between the two teams, with Sterling himself yet to undergo a medical.
So at the moment, it seems that although nothing has been officially confirmed by the clubs themselves, apart from the formalities, Blues fans can take this transfer as a done deal. It should be noted, AC Milan were previously very interested in Sterling and wanted to lure him to work on a new and big project.
The problem for the Rossoneri, however, was meeting financial expectations and although Sterling himself recently said he was considering leaving England, he will eventually sign for the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Sterling arrived in Manchester back in 2015 from Liverpool, so he spent nearly seven years in the Citizens organization. However, in that final year, Pepe Guardiola only fielded him in 23 league games, but in total, he started 337 games in a City jersey across all competitions.
In those, he scored 131 goals and assisted on a further 94. During this period he celebrated winning the Championship title four times and lifted the League Cup winner’s trophy above his head five times.
The Citizens also dominated the FA Cup in 2019 and won the English Super Cup in 2019 and 2020.
