This year the Czech Republic will play a very difficult barrage to qualify for the World Cup. The draw, which will take place on 26 November, will determine which opponent our team will face in the semi-finals and then the final of the barrage. Among the possible opponents is the Portugal team with Cristiano Ronaldo!

In previous years, we have been used to the fact that in the barrage, the teams will face off in a double-header played home and away. But now the barrage is much more complicated.

A total of 12 teams will participate (10 second-placed teams from qualifying groups and 2 teams based on results from the Nations League), of which 3 will advance.

The Czech Republic has already secured its place among the 12 teams, but in the remaining matches it will be decided whether we will be seeded or unseeded.

The actual progression will then be decided by two matches against two opponents in a playoff system. The Czech Republic cannot afford any slip-ups.

Because of the Portuguese failure against Serbia yesterday (1: 2 loss), Cristiano Ronaldo will also participate in the qualification. The next seeded team, for example, is Russia.

Among the certain unseeded teams at the moment are Austria and North Macedonia. The other teams will be decided in the remaining matches on 15 and 16 November

In total, 13 teams will advance to the World Cup in Qatar from the European qualification. The following are already certain to qualify:

Germany

Denmark

Belgium

France

Croatia

Spain

Serbia
