The fight for the European Cup is entering its final phase. Arsenal London players, led by the young guns, are within reach of a Champions League ticket after five long years. The average youngest unit of the current Premier League season could be strengthened by three players with whom the North London club would be thinking of the highest standards if they qualify for the millionaire competition.

The last time Gunners supporters heard the jingle of the most prestigious club competition at the Emirates Stadium was five years ago. Back then, after a 2-10 aggregate scoreline, they were knocked out by German giants Bayern Munich in the semi-finals. This autumn, coach Mikel Arteta’s squad can again measure their strength on the European stage.

The current fifth Premier League side has four games in hand on fourth-placed Manchester United and three games on sixth-placed West Ham, with whom it is directly battling for a Champions League place. Yet the average age of the players joining the league matches is 24 years and 230 days, which fits them into the role of the youngest unit.

In the event of a favourable finish, there could be some big transfers at the Emirates Stadium this summer. And who are the Gunners targeting? Defensive shield Youri Tielemans from Leicester, Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix and the oft-mentioned north London-born Serge Gnabry currently at Bayern Munich are priorities.

Youri Tielemans
The 24-year-old midfielder is on the radar of several teams fighting for European Cups. Along with the Gunners, reigning champions Manchester City are also monitoring his situation. One of the most important news is that the Belgian international is not planning to extend his contract at Leicester, which expires at the end of next season, as confirmed by journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Among his strengths are reading the game, overview, but also midfield, which the Spanish strategist clings to at Arsenal. According to the Transfermarkt website, the price of the Belgian international is around £55 million. But it is clear that Leicester representatives would ask for more.

Reinforcements for the number 6 position are simply needed. Granit Xhaka has not been very popular among the fans of one of the most successful teams in England for several years now, and Tielemans, in partnership with Thomas Partey, could form an interesting duo.

Joao Felix
The 22-year-old Portugal native has impressed Arsenal’s management, led by Edu Gaspar, who is in charge of bringing in new players. He has been involved in a total of eleven goals across all competitions in the current campaign.

The Atletico Madrid striker’s greatest asset is undoubtedly movement. Furthermore, he can accelerate the game at the right moment and is no stranger to finishing. The biggest problem here will be the price, which will probably be around the £100 million mark. His contract with Los Indios runs until the end of June 2026.

In the event of unsuccessful negotiations, Mikel Arteta has several other alternatives to choose from. The most frequently mentioned names are Alexander Isak or Dominic Calvert-Lewin. But the arrival of a top striker is absolutely crucial.

While Alexander Lacazette always gives 100% to the team, he hasn’t been scoring goals in north London.

Serge Gnabry
And finally, Serge Gnabry. A graduate who hasn’t been given many opportunities in the A-team. But now he is one of the key figures of the current Bayern Munich. He currently has ten Bundesliga goals and has assisted five more.

The German international has gained a lot of experience on the international and European stage. The 26-year-old winger is coming into his prime footballing years and a return to the Emirates is not completely out of the question. In his own words, he will always have Arsenal in his heart and a lot can happen in the summer.
