BVB is bringing in coaching legends. Peter Hermann is moving to Dortmund – after last assisting Mike Büskens at Schalke.
Hermann knows the Bundesliga like no one else. In more than three decades on the professional field, in which he has mostly worked as an assistant coach, the 70-year-old Hermann has coached nearly 1,000 games in the two top national divisions as well as in the DFB Pokal and another 200 in European club competitions. Hermann’s greatest successes came alongside Jupp Heynckes.
In 2013, Hermann inflicted a painful defeat on BVB when it was alongside Jupp Heynckes that he led Bayern Munich to victory in the Champions League final against Dortmund, thus winning the treble. In total, Hermann has three championship titles and two cup victories to his name.
In addition to Hermann, Sebastian Geppert will also strengthen Terzić’s team. He was one of Terzic’s assistants back in the 2020/21 season, when he led BVB to a cup victory as interim coach. Aside from that nearly six-month hiatus, the 38-year-old Geppert has been in charge of BVB’s U17 team since 2016 and during that time he has won the German Junior B Championship once (2018) and reached the final again (2019).
