Tears and emotion on one side, pride and loyalty on the other! Dortmund once again showed that they have some of the best fans in the world!
Dortmund lost the title in the last round, when they failed to beat Mainz at home, which was no longer in the balance in the final act. Still, Borussia fans showed respect and devotion to their heroes, which touched even coach Edin Terzic.

There has been huge disappointment in Dortmund in recent days. They were about to celebrate the championship, but stumbled before the finish line and gave the title to their biggest rival.
It could have been a good season after all. Dortmund failed to follow up their home win against Chelsea in the LM semi-finals and crashed out of the millionaire competition, only to be knocked out of the domestic cup a few weeks later.
Still, Dortmund players, especially in the Bundesliga, had a dream season. Even before the final round, they still had the domestic league title in their hands. Then, when they were about to face a virtually winless Mainz at home, no one doubted that they would win the title.
But a twenty-four minute shower, when Mainz scored two goals at Signal Iduna Park and the home side’s biggest star Marco Reus missed a penalty, woke the whole of Dortmund from a beautiful dream. That was then replaced by a nightmare after the final whistle.
Dortmund did manage to equalise in the final moments of the game, but Bayern Munich struggled to get their game in Cologne. The Bavarian club celebrated their eleventh Bundesliga title in a row, leaving Dortmund fans with nothing to cry about.
But anyone expecting criticism from the fans would be sorely mistaken. Immediately after the game, the fans sang odes of praise to their club, moving even Borussia coach Edin Terzic to tears.
“If you win and stay up, or if you lose and stay down, we’ll still be singing: Borussia, BVB!” So went the songs that carried through the stadium, expressing support for their stricken heroes. A sad but beautiful football moment!
