AS Roma has a new signing in Tammy Abraham, who arrives from Chelsea for 40 million euros plus 5 million in add-ons. This breaks the record held until then by Czech striker Patrik Schick.

Patrik Schick first came to AS Roma in the summer of 2017 on a one-year loan from Sampdoria Genoa, the team from the capital bought him for 42 million euros in a year.

This made Schick the most expensive player ever to join the club. Still, he didn’t fare too well there and after a loan spell at Leipzig, he settled at Leverkusen.

At that time he left for “only” 26 million euros. The Czech forward’s record is now broken, with Tammy Abraham the king of this statistic.

He cost the club 40 million, which in itself is not a record, but AS Roma will pay another 5 million in add-ons, so the English striker can be considered more expensive.

The 23-year-old striker also left the London team because his workload would be much less, given the new signing.

This is because Romelu Lukaku, who is surely expected to play regularly in the starting line-up and his goal will be to win the title for Chelsea.
