Stuttgart vs. Dortmund: Preview and betting tips

Friday night’s football will see Stuttgart and Dortmund battle it out in the Bundesliga. Both teams need to win. The home team needs to stay out of the relegation zone, while the visitors are fighting for the TOP 4, which guarantees the Champions League.

Stuttgart, who are fighting for salvation, have not lost their last four games, even won twice and jumped to fifteenth place in the table. However, they have a one-point lead over bargain Bielefeld and relegated Hertha Berlin.

Borussia, on the other hand, have won only twice in their last six matches and the title fight has definitely turned into a Champions League battle. However, the situation is firmly in their hands, with a twelve-point lead over fifth-placed Freiburg.

Konstantinos Mavropanos is the mainstay of the home side, the Greek stopper defends well and has already scored five goals and assisted once. Japanese defensive midfielder and team captain Wataru Endo boasts a 3+2 record.

In the Dortmund jersey, it is impossible not to mention Erling Haaland, the Norwegian sniper has scored twenty-three goals and assisted six times in all competitions. Club legend Marco Reus has scored twenty-seven Borussia goals (13+14).

Stuttgart have the third worst defence in the league, conceding fifty-one times, on the other hand they have only scored more than one goal in two of their last four games.

The fact that Dortmund’s forward line is not doing well at all plays into the home team’s hands. They have scored only five goals in their last five games.

Considering the long layoff for preparation (due to Europa League elimination) and the return of Haaland from injury, I think Dortmund will win.
