Rio Ferdinand, Usain Bolt or Bastian Schweinsteiger. They all took to Twitter to comment on the Manchester United vs Liverpool game!
Rio Ferdinand, Usain Bolt or Bastian Schweinsteiger. They all expressed their opinions about the Manchester United-Liverpool match on social media. In what way?
The Manchester United-Liverpool game is always a highly watched event. It was no different on Sunday when these old rivals took to the pitch against each other in the ninth round of the Premier League. The eyes of football enthusiasts not only in the Islands were on the green of the Old Trafford stadium. It was awaited whether the home team, playing in poor form, could defy the odds and stop the visitors from Liverpool.
Before the game, former legendary stopper Rio Ferdinand was showing confidence in United’s players and exhorting the fans to support his team::
Not long after the opening whistle, however, the first ball after Keita’s shot appeared in the net, guarded by David De Gea, which started a series of posts from Usain Bolt. He makes no secret of his affection for the Red Devils, so his frustration is understandable. Words and phrases such as “What a joke”, “It’s going to be a long day”, “Wake me up when it’s over”.
The NBC Sports Soccer channel has posted a picture of the home fans leaving in droves at 0:5 in the 65th minute! It is certainly not usual for the spectators to get up and go home or to drink their sorrows in a pub shortly after an hour of play.
Television commentator and former professional Colombian footballer Melissa Ortiz tweeted a photo of Alex Ferguson, the legendary Manchester United coach. He, like many other stars associated with the famous Manchester club, could not be absent from the match. According to Ortiz, Ferguson’s face says it all. We agree.
When it was all over and Liverpool were in the booth rejoicing at the demolition of their opponents, posts by Bastian Schweinsteiger (former home player) and David James (former away goalkeeper) appeared on the net. Their view of the match was similar – there was a total dismantling of Manchester United.
“In a clash of teams that were supposed to compete for the Premier League title in the current season, Manchester were completely out of it. In the context of a clash between historic rivals, Liverpool’s victory couldn’t have been much better,” James said.
Schweinsteiger wrote:. There is a huge difference in comparing the two teams, especially in vision and philosophy.”
Among the contributions one can select the one from the keyboard of Paul Ince, former player of both clubs, and tennis star Boris Becker. Both have addressed the Red Devils‘ coaching position .
Ince raised the question of whether anyone could remember a time when he had denounced Solskjaer’s coaching prowess. Back then he was criticized for it by his followers, now many would agree with him.
Boris Becker, on the other hand, expressed the idea of Zinedine Zidane coming to the bench of a losing club.
Sunday’s duel between the two giants will be remembered for a long time!
