In recent days, the possible departure of Martin Minchev within the league has been actively discussed, but now it seems that he will head abroad. Turkish side Rizespor are interested in his services, but it hasn’t been specified yet whether it will be a transfer or a guest appearance.
Martin Minchev, a twenty-two year old talented Bulgarian winger who has already played for the senior national team, is starting his fourth season at Letná.
However, he has not yet broken into the starting line-up at Sparta and it seems that he would not get much space on the pitch in the future. Because of this, he and his agent have been exploring the possibility of leaving.
There were discussions about possible guest appearances in the league, the most talked about was Pardubice, but the “Bulgarian Prince”, as some Sparta fans humorously call him, refused.
It was expected that he would stay at the club, but now there is an option with which all parties could agree. According to journalist Metodi Shumanov, Turkish side Rizespor are interested in Minchev.
The latter is in fifth place after four rounds in the current Superleague season. In his team there are players that are not well known to the Czech viewer, but Leonard Kweuke left Sparta for him in the past.
But back to Minchev, there is currently no information out there about the possibility of his departure. Sparta will probably only sell him if there is a good offer, but they could agree to a guest appearance with a possible option.
In short, Minchev needs to play in order to show something big in football. The most he has shown in Sparta so far is that for one good game he has five more in which he is not very useful to the team.
