West Ham managed to win Tuesday’s Premier League game against Watford and picked up their first points of the season. Tomas Soucek scored a goal in the 3-1 win, equalizing at 1-1.
Watford took the lead from the first big chance of the match. Emmanuel Dennis headed just under the crossbar from the edge of the box. In the tenth minute, Said Benrahma had the equaliser but only hit the crossbar.
In the 27th minute, Tomáš Souček equalised with a volley and gave the home goalkeeper no chance.
A minute later, the Hammers were already ahead. Michail Antonio found Benrahma, who made no mistake from a volley.
At the end of the first half, Cucho Hernandez scored again, but it was not between the three posts and the score was 2-1.
In the 48th minute it was two goals up. Jarrod Bowen, following a centre by Soucek, fired a shot past Daniel Bachmann. However, the goal was disallowed due to a foul by Soucek.
Ten minutes later, the visitors celebrated. Bowen was fouled in the penalty area and Mark Noble converted the ensuing penalty to make it 3-1. Watford tried to do something about the result, but their combinations ended quickly due to inaccuracies.
West Ham, with Alex King on as a substitute, were able to hold on and even score once more. Nikola Vlasic cleared the ball into the empty net. The Hammers won 4-1.
