Rooney can do great things as a coach, his former teammate is clear. What does he have in common with Alex Ferguson?
Wayne Rooney has had an illustrious playing career during which he has won everything there is to win. He would like to try to do the same in a coaching role, but is now working hard to keep Derby County in League Two. According to his former teammate, he has a big future ahead of him.

It’s starting to look bad. The chances of staying in League Two are diminishing. Derby County are five points behind Reading, who are in the last relegation spot. But Wayne Rooney is doing wonders, the points deduction due to poor finances is taking its toll.
But the English legend is not escaping his predicament. In January, Rooney could have taken over his beloved Everton, but he refused to leave a team that will still have work to do to stay in the second league at all. Were it not for the points deduction, Derby would be in the quiet mid-table position.
Rooney’s former teammate Louis Saha, who has also defended the colours of Manchester United and Everton, expects the top scorer in Red Devils history to become a spectacular manager.
“It’s a tough job for him, but Wayne is persistent. I don’t know what he is like as a manager, but watching him work at Derby, he looks first class. I’ve seen a few interviews with him, he’s got really passionate body language, great communication and he has a lot of empathy, which is important,” Saha told The Mirror.
“Empathy allows you to really see a player’s strengths and weaknesses, which allows you to decide how to help him. That was exactly Sir Alex Ferguson’s main strength. That’s why I think Rooney can do great things as a coach,” the French striker added.
Without having any disrespect for Derby, Saha believes that Rooney will really show his immense quality, smarts and commitment at a bigger club.
