Saudi Arabia the new favourite destination of the world’s big stars? It doesn’t seem so unrealistic. Local outfit Al-Nassr are doing their best to get Cristiano Ronaldo and are planning another big signing for the summer, intending to acquire the Chelsea star.
There was talk during the World Cup in Qatar that Cristiano Ronaldo could be heading to Saudi Arabia.
The Portuguese legend is wanted by local club Al-Nassr, where he is currently coached by French coach Rudi Garcia.
However, Ronaldo is not the only star they want. According to the latest information from Foot Mercato, Garcia is also planning to bring in one of his compatriots, but unlike Ronaldo, he was not in Qatar due to injury.
That star is N’Golo Kanté, but Al-Nassr will not seek his arrival until the summer. The French midfielder’s contract expires in the summer and therefore his potential acquisition will be most advantageous then.
Although it is not impossible that the 31-year-old could sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, he has been plagued by health problems for the last year and a half and therefore this scenario seems rather unlikely.
According to French media, however, Kanté is by no means ruling out his transfer to Saudi Arabia and is keeping the door open. Nevertheless, he is said to prefer to stay in England, optimally in London.
In addition, Al-Nassr has to solve the problem of the number of foreign players. He is allowed to have a maximum of 7 players in his team, but currently he has 8. So he has to sell someone so that at least the aforementioned Ronaldo can come in.
