The daily Marca came out this morning with the news that negotiations involving Cristiano Ronaldo have progressed in a good direction. The Portuguese player should be on the verge of an agreement with the Saudi Arabian team. He is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the team, leaving Europe for the first time in his career.

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to take more and more steps to sort out his future. After his departure from Manchester United, everyone is wondering where the football legend will head to. So far, the Saudi Arabian sheikhs are the closest to acquiring him.

The Portuguese player ended up at Manchester United after disagreements with the management and coach Erik ten Hagem. A few days before the World Cup, it was announced that the club had reached an agreement with the player for his departure.

No offer from the old continent or from North America is even close to 200 million euros a year. Ronaldo would obviously prefer to stay in a league with more competitive teams, but Al-Nassr has come up with an offer that is not to be refused.

Arab football has certainly been growing in recent years, with players coming to the Middle East to finish their careers, which has raised the prestige of the league in recent years.

For Al-Nassr, Ronaldo will play with names like David Ospina, Luiz Gustavo and Vincent Aboubakar. CR7 can also follow another former United player Ighalo. The Nigerian striker became the king of goalscorers last season and won the title.

Al-Hilal is the current league champion in Saudi Arabia and is also Al-Nassr’s biggest rival. The former already wanted to sign Ronaldo, but the possibility of any transfer was prevented by the penalty the team received for duplicating contracts.

Now the transfer is very close, according to Marca newspaper. There should be no legal obstacles to the transfer. Ronaldo is therefore a few steps away from signing with an Arab team after the World Cup, the latter will pay him 200 million euros a year, which is almost 5 billion crowns a year.
