England to host the World Cup over-35 this summer
Are you one of the football fans who are sad about the current state of football? Chasing goal statistics or data analysis of individual players has taken precedence over the sheer joy of the game. Don’t be sad, you’ll get your fill of football emotions this summer.
Great news especially for fans of the older years. This summer, the World Cup for the over 35s will be held in England and it will be a big show. In fact, former legends of world football have reportedly pledged to take part in the tournament.
The tournament is organised by the Elite Player Group (EPG) and will therefore be called the EPG Cup. A total of eight countries that have won at least one gold medal in the almost 100-year history of football’s most watched tournament will take part in the championship.
Specifically, these are home nations England, Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Uruguay. The tournament will begin on 4 June with the quarter-final matches. 8. the two semi-final matches will then be played on June 11 and the final match will be played on June 11. The venues have not yet been revealed.
Matches in the classic number of players will last only 70 minutes and coaches can use rotation hockey in their 18-man teams. The tournament is open only to players over 35 years of age who have played at least one national team game for their country or have played at least 100 league games for their country.
Legends of the sport have already pledged to participate
The organization has already published the list of players who have already pledged their participation and we definitely have something to look forward to. Among the participants we will find true legends of the sport. Among others, Ballon d’Or winners and players who have not only dominated their national teams, but also played their part in the classic world championships.
