Potter: It’s another blow, we’re getting one after another at the moment. But he praised Felix for his performance

Graham Potter is going through a very difficult time at the moment. His Chelsea have drawn three of their last four games and lost once. The Blues were not saved by new signing João Félix, who was sent off on his welcome.

Potter needed reinforcements in attack like salt. Aubameyang is practically out of the picture, leaving him with only Kai Havertz, who is not a typical top striker either.

João Félix has arrived from Atlético Madrid on a six-month loan. And even though the Portuguese was barely in blue for a few hours, Potter threw him in the water and sent him into the starting line-up for Thursday’s game at Fulham.

the 23-year-old put in a fairly decent performance and was one of the better players on the pitch, it’s just that he won’t remember his Premier League debut fondly.

In the 58th minute he indiscriminately brought down Kenny Tete and saw a straight red card. That was at 1-1, Chelsea eventually lost 1-2 and fell further into crisis.

“It was an attacking tackle, there was no malice, but I can understand why it was a red,” Potter said in a post-match interview.

“It’s another blow, we’re getting one after another at the moment. He played really well, you could see his quality in the game so it’s very disappointing for us,” the Chelsea coach added.

Félix will probably have to play 2-3 games for his intervention. But the Blues are not expecting anything easy, first they will play Crystal Palace, then they will go to Liverpool. However, if they want to stay in the cup game, they need to start picking up points immediately.
