Napoli will be coached by Rudi Garcia from next season after Luciano Spalletti’s retirement. The new Partenopei coach has compared the team’s current offensive star Victor Osimhen to Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he managed at Al-Nasser until recently.
Although they didn’t go as far as they had imagined in the Champions League, it can still be said that Spalletti had a dream season with the Partenopei last season. After all, the Italian strategist returned the Serie A championship trophy to the club from the city under Vesuvius after 33 long years.
But after the season and the Scudetto celebrations, the 47-year-old coach said he wanted to take a break from football. The reason was said to be great exhaustion.
Now, however, things look a little different. According to Italian media, the now former Napoli coach is expected to become the new coach of the Italian national team.
In any case, the club had to deal with the situation of Spalletti’s departure. And it was successful, although how successful will only be seen during the coming season. Napoli will be led by Rudi Garcia from the new season.
That is, the coach who coached Al-Nassr the very last time, but from where he was fired not only because of the controversy and quarrel with Cristiano Ronaldo. And it was after his experience in Saudi Arabia that Garcia aligned the Portuguese star with the Nigerian Osimhen.
He’s a leader, like Ronaldo
So what do the new Napoli coach think Ronaldo and Osimhen have in common? ” Osimhen is a leader, he always wants to win and drag the team,” Garcia said in an interview with DAZN, also quoted by Corriere dello Sport.
“He’s a bit like Cristiano Ronaldo. When he wins, he’s super happy. He calls his teammates to take pictures with him and I like that. He’s one of the best in the world, he could just attack, but he helps the team defensively as well, he pushes the opposition and it’s so good for the team. That’s one of his qualities,” Garcia said.
“I got along with Cristiano. He was the first to arrive at training and the last to leave. He’s an incredible leader,” he added.
