The next Oktagon tournament is coming up in leaps and bounds! The most anticipated match will be the title fight between heavyweights Martin Buday and Kamil Minda. Who will become the new champion?
Martin Buday will quite possibly be fighting under the UFC banner soon enough, and that is probably the reason why he is a pretty clear favorite against Kamil Minda according to the bookmakers.
But the odds are probably very exaggerated. Minda has shown in his fights in the Octagon that he is a quality fighter who can not only dish out hard shots, but also take them. He’s definitely not fodder.
Minda is also on pace, while Buday hasn’t fought in two years. As the promos for the fight read, Buday hasn’t fought in two years while Minda has been winning for two years. That could make a big difference.
However, two things seem to play in Buday’s favor. The Polish wrestler doesn’t excel with his conditioning, but he has strong first rounds. Besides that, Buday is a great grappler, and at heavyweight he is the European grappling and Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion.
Minda has never been properly tested on the ground and his ground skills are a mystery. But the question is whether he will even give Buday time to take him to the ground.
One can expect the fight won’t end on points, though. Two scenarios are likely. Either Buday wins by submission or Minda wins by KO/TKO.
