Octagon as Formula 1! Up to five tournaments in Germany in 2023 and a gala every 14 days?
Octagon MMA is growing into at least a European organization. At the beginning of June we witnessed the first gala in Frankfurt, Germany. Next year, the promoters are planning up to five fights in Germany, and the tournaments should have a more frequent schedule.

Octagon becomes the European MMA organization
The biggest MMA organization on the domestic scene is growing at a breakneck pace, just like the sport itself. Years ago, few people could have imagined that the Czechoslovakian organization Oktagon would sell out the German Festhalle in Frankfurt.
It happened, and the local media was excited about the arrival of a new organization in the country. In any case, Oktagon plans to continue its conquest of the German market and is planning spectacular changes.
Promoter and owner of the organization Ondrej Novotny came to iSport for an interview and outlined the possible changes. The organization intends to expand to other countries and wants to increase the frequency of individual tournaments.
Promoter Ondřej Novotný outlines grand plans
“I am satisfied, I’m even excited, which is almost unprecedented for me,” Novotny replied to a question from an iSport presenter about whether he was satisfied with the tournament in Germany. “Of course there is no perfection, but it turned out pretty much as it should,” he did not hide his enthusiasm for the successful event in the western neighbours.
“We plan to expand further, but we have to take it step by step,” he outlined a possible expansion to other European countries. This October we will see one more tournament in Frankfurt, but next year should be even more diverse.
Up to five tournaments in Germany next year, with galas every fortnight!
“Next year there could be four to five tournaments, ” he revealed the organisation’s big plans in Germany. “We would like to be like Formula 1, the format of twenty weekends give or take a year is something to look forward to,” he revealed.
“That fortnightly sometimes three-week cycle with some sort of summer break is exactly what those people could take in the Europe we’re heading to,” he encouraged MMA fans. ” Just to make it interesting, to make it a holiday, ” he added.
We have so much to look forward to and we wish the organization to grow. As the organization grows, so do the sporting experiences that give fans the spice of their hobby.
