Liverpool have one of the most important games of the season ahead of them. On this occasion, star Mohamed Salah performed media duties and spoke to Sky Sports about Jürgen Klopp’s decision to leave Anfield Road after the season. What does this mean for him?

When Jürgen Klopp became the new head coach of the famous Liverpool club in 2015, probably few expected how successful he would be. Back then, he was taking over a struggling team whose present was a shadow of its glorious history. Since then, however, the Reds have returned to the limelight, and if it weren’t for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, who knows how many trophies they would have collected.

Still, the German strategist ranks among the greatest coaching legends not only in the club’s history, but in the entire Premier League. One man who has a hand in that is undoubtedly Mohamed Salah, who arrived at Anfield Road from AS Roma in the summer of 2017.

The Egyptian arrived at Liverpool for a now ridiculous €47 million. A steal in broad daylight, one would like to say. The reason is simple. The former Chelsea player has ranked among the best players on the planet after arriving at Anfield, has put up excellent numbers every season and is the driving force behind the Reds.

Currently, with 205 goals scored across all competitions, he is the third highest goalscorer in club history, bettered only by Roger Hunt (262 goals) and Ian Rush (339 goals). He also racked up 89 assists, with only four players collecting more in a Liverpool jersey.

However, the duo of Mohamed Salah and Jürgen Klopp will part ways in the summer. The German coach will leave Liverpool. This is a big blow for the English club. Even the Egyptian star doesn’t see it any differently.

Mohamed Salah has spoken about the end of Jürgen Klopp

Mohamed Salah is currently one of the longest serving players at Liverpool. That’s also why it’s no surprise that in a recent interview with Sky Sports, he had to answer a question about how the day he found out about Jürgen Klopp’s demise actually went.

“We had a meeting at 10:30, which was strange. I came and saw his agent. I thought to myself that Jürgen had probably signed a new contract. But that’s when Virgil van Dijk revealed to me that he was leaving after the season. I was surprised and just asked why,” the Egyptian said.

So a new coach will take over the Reds in the summer. With Mohamed’s potential departure increasingly being discussed in the media, the question was offered as to whether it would affect his future. “One day I will leave the club, but no, it won’t affect my future,” he replied.

He will definitely want to say goodbye to Klopp with the best season possible. They have already dominated the Carabao Cup and are still in the game in the Europa League, FA Cup and Premier League. It is in the top English competition that they are currently the leader. However, on Sunday they will face a battle with Manchester City, which could reveal a lot.
